[39.] ❄ Merry Christmas ❄

❄ Merry Christmas ❄
I hope you were able to spend it with your loved ones!

I celebrated Christmas with my boyfriend and his family on the 24th.
We had a traditional Polish Christmas with 12 dishes of food on the table!
Needless to say, we were all pretty stuffed by the end of it :3

Before the meal started, we all had a piece of opłatek.
It's a Christmas wafer baked from pure wheat flour and water.
The opłatki wafers are embossed with Christmas related religious images, varying from the nativity scene, Virgin Mary with baby Jesus, to the Star of Bethlehem.

The eldest member holds a large wafer and breaks off a piece to begin the ritual.

The remaining wafer is passed on to another member while a prayer for loved ones is said.
This continues until everyone at the table has a piece of the wafer.
Finally, everyone eats their share.

This was the first time I did this and I thought it was a really nice idea.
Made Christmas a little bit different.

The Christmas meal consisted of the following 12 foods:

1. Herring & onion in sauce
2. Grilled Salmon with Herbs
3. Grilled Salmon with Lemon
4. Smoked Salmon
5. Greek Style fish
6. Pierogi with cheese filling
7. Pierogi with sauerkraut filling
8. Filled egg halves
9. Salad
10. Barszcz
11. Croquettes
12. Bread

As you can see, there is no meat involved.
Polish people will still be fasting from meat until Christmas Day.

~•* Outfit Rundown *•~

Christmas Headband - Claire's Accessories
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood x Melissa
Cardigan - New Look
Dress - Primark
Tights - M&S

I didn't feel like dressing up in lolita for Christmas this year.
I feel like every year, I'm using the same dress for it so it gets a bit boring...
This dress does the job alright, I think. It's very simple, yet cute and I like that.

Thanks for reading!

[34.] Uniqlo x Ladurée

Hello dear readers (^-^)!
A lot of good things have been happening,
so I'm finding it a little hard to blog!

I've just moved to a new house with my amazing boyfriend
We finally have wifi since this week, so I have some catching up to do!

Today, I want to tell you about my recent purchases.

I recently heard that Uniqlo was doing a collaboration with Ladurée.
I normally miss out on all the cool Uniqlo collaborations, because
either I don't have any money or I just don't know about them until it's too late!
NOT THIS TIME! CAN NOT MISS OUT ON LADURÉE!

So, I've sent my friend Wing shopping for me in London,
because there is sadly no Uniqlo store in my city...
Thank you Wing, you're the best!

I got 3 lovely T-Shirts.

The writing is in gold glittery letters <3

ALL THE MACARONS <3

ALL THE MACARONS AGAIN <3

Wheeee~ They are so cute and look much better in real life!
With that in mind, I wanted to wear one of them today.
I have been very ill over the last week so all I was wearing was sweatpants :/

Now that I'm starting to feel better, I wanted to look better as well :3
This is what I've created and how I look today!

Bit blurry? :/

~•* Outfit *•~

Headbow - Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
T-Shirt - Uniqlo x Ladurée
Belt - New Look
Skirt - Emily Temple cute
Socks - Birthday gift from boyfriend's mum
Shoes - Primark (£3!!!)

Ladurée draws it's inspiration from elegance and refinement,
nostalgia and modernity, the beautiful and the tasteful.
Ladurée speaks to our senses between pleasure and tenderness
and fullfills all our cravings.

Yes. You do, Ladurée
ALL MY CRAVINGS.

Love,

[32.] Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone (^-^)
Hope you all had a lovely time!

I've spent Easter with my boyfriend's family,
as all of my family lives abroad.
I had a great time!

We arrived at 10 o'clock on Easter Sunday for breakfast.
This wasn't just any breakfast, but a traditional Polish Easter breakfast!

~•* Here is some foodporn for your enjoyment *•~

ALL THE FOOD

Barszcz Biały - traditional Easter soup

A selection of ham

Fresh herring

Sałatka - a vegetable salad

Filled eggs with mayonnaise

Kabanas - a type of Polish sausage

Galaretka - chicken & vegetables jelly stuff

Well it's needless to say, after all that, I was pretty stuffed!
I absolutely love Polish cuisine, it's very similar to the food I grew up with.
Plus it helps that my boyfriend's parents are amazing chefs <3

You'd think this would be all the food you can eat for breakfast...
WRONG! Not in a Polish house. Eating kind of never stops.
But hey! You don't hear me complaining ;)

A selection of delicious cakes

MOAR CAKE - this cheesecake was amazing!

Of course, because I hadn't worn lolita properly since January,
I took this opportunity to wear something nice...

Here's my Easter outfit & greetings!

Happy Easter to all my Dutch readers <3

I'm a bunny...

~•* Outfit *•~

Bunny Ears - Supermarket
Rose Wreath - Primark
Blouse - New Look
JSK - Angelic Pretty
Tights - Accessorize
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood x Melissa

For the first time in ages, I've used my natural hair...
I still think it doesn't go very well with lolita,
and I should just keep wearing a wig!

I've only just noticed how horribly short this dress is on me D:
Does anyone know where to get an underskirt?
Maybe I should just sell it (;_____;)
Opinions?

Hope you all had a lovely Easter!
Thanks for reading (^-^)..

[11.] "Foreign" lolitas, part 8...

Good afternoon, readers ^-^!
Sorry for the delay in this post!

Here's the final part of the "Foreign" lolitas series for now,
until I meet more frilly people on my travels!

~*"Foreign" lolitas, part 8...*~
 The Netherlands

Being born and raised in The Netherlands,
it's not exactly foreign to me.

I'm going to start this entry with little bit of my lolita history ^-^!

I first came across lolita fashion through my dear friend Nonette!
Nonette & I were classmates whilst studying Multi-Media Design.
I always thought that Nonette has a superb sense of style.
One day she was wearing lolita to class and I asked her what she was wearing.
She explained that it was lolita and how she got into it herself.
I told her that I loved how it looked and would love to try it myself!
That's kind of how it started ^-^!

~*Nonette*~

Nonette in 2011. Isn't she just stunning? <3

Nonette has helped me so much over the years and
she is a constant style inspiration to me <3

You can follow Nonette's blog at:

As part of the history lesson,
I thought I'd find the oldest photo of me in lolita XD

I went to my first lolita meet-up on 06/12/2008,
but there are no good photos of myself so I'll spare you!
I remember wearing an Emily Temple cute mini skirt with a tulip on it.

Anyway, less about me, more about my Dutch frillies!
I haven't met many Dutch lolitas as I've moved to the UK shortly
after I got into lolita properly, but here are a few of my friends ^-^!

~*Damiën*~

Damiën at Summer Darkness, 2011.

Damiën is my food-partner-in-crime!
We're a bunch of proper fatties, trapped in skinny people's bodies!
Every time Damiën & I meet up, we somehow end up stuffing our faces XD
But it's cool, we love eating so it's not a problem!

Damiën can pull off any style, may it be sweet/gothic lolita or EGA.
He always looks totally fabulous <3

Follow Damiën's blog at:

He also has a vlog channel that you can follow at:

And here's a Golden Oldie of us for the fun of it :3

~*Marloes*~

Marloes in April 2012.

I first met Marloes in May 2011 at the Anime Con in Almelo.
I always feel a little nervous when I see other lolitas,
especially in my home country.
But I somehow found the courage to speak to Marloes,
I thought she and Danchelle looked lovely so I wanted to tell them!

I think Marloes looks great in almost every style
and she has the most amazing wigs!
I think my favourite styles on Marloes are shiro (all white) and classic.

Myself, Danchelle & Marloes at the Anime Con in May 2011, where we first met!

~*Danchelle*~

Danchelle in May 2012.

I first met Danchelle in May 2011 at the Anime Con in Almelo,
same as with Marloes, as they were there together!

Danchelle looks so amazing in sweet lolita!
It's like she was made for it ^-^!

We met again later in 2011 at Hyper Japan in London.
Sadly I didn't have much time to catch up as I was working at the event!
I hope all is well and we can meet up again soon :3

~*Leyla*~

Leyla at Summer Darkness, 2011.

I've met Leyla only briefly a couple of times.
Sadly we never really get the opportunity to talk properly!
Hopefully that will change in the future, though!

Leyla is always super nice and she looks great every time!
Even when she's not wearing lolita!

She's also the owner of the only lolita shop in The Netherlands.
Mfashion in Bilthoven - http://www.mfashion.eu/

You can follow Leyla's blogs at:
http://www.leylajapantravel.blogspot.co.uk/
and leylafashion.blogspot.co.uk

Thank you for reading ^-^!
Hope it's entertaining, haha :3
I've already got an idea for the next entry.

[10.] "Foreign" Lolitas, part 7...

Good evening/night, readers ^-^!
Super late entry, sorry! I've been really busy & had a frustrating day today!
Anyway, I won't bore you with the details, lol!

"Foreign" Lolitas, part 7...
~* Czech Republic *~

I went to the Czech Republic in December 2009, specifically Prague.
December 2009 seems so long ago now, wow!

Once there I met up with a lovely lolita called Vita.
I met Vita through one of my online friends called Lucie.
She's another lolita from Czech Republic, but wasn't living in Prague at the time.
Sadly I have lost touch with Vita now (;____;).

Vita showed me around the whole of Prague,
I remember my feet were hurting from walking so much XD
It was totally worth it though, prague is such a beautiful city!

Here are some photos ^-^!

A little bit of the Christmas Market.

Eating a crêpe <3 Delicious!

The view from Karlův Most.

City view from on top of a tower!

While I was in Prague, I also went to visit the Alphonse Mucha Exhibition.
He's my favourite artist, so it was a must for me!

but I'm very happy that I eventually got to meet my
long-term online friend Lucie, too <3

Lucie was studying in the UK for a year or so and
it was actually really close to where I lived at the time!
We would meet up lots and go on silly adventures ^-^!
Pro Tip: There is no Nando's in Newport.

Lucie is currently on holiday in Sri Lanka and lives in Prague,
where she works for Czech Television!
We try to meet up as often as we can and she recently came
to London and stayed with me for a whole week!
We had so much fun!
Pro Tip: Stay away from Czech alcohol.

While she was in London, we went to a Mori Girl meet-up.
Neither of us had tried the style before, but we I think we did OK!
Here's some silly pictures of us... ^-^!
(we actually don't have any normal ones)

I'm going to a concert tomorrow, so excited!
More about that later!

Have a great night,

I've lived in London for just over a year.
Just moved back to the countryside!

I've even lived in a house with 2 other lolitas :3
Aggie, doesn't like photos so I won't put one here.

[8.] Brighton Japan Festival 2012

Good afternoon, readers ^-^!

Yesterday I didn't have time to write an entry,
as I was in Brighton all day for

Brighton Japan Festival

I had to get up at 6am, so I would be in Brighton for 12 noon.
It was such a long journey, but definitely worth it as I got to see my friends.

Brighton Japan Festival is an annual event that first started in 2008.
It has become the largest annual Japanese cultural festival in the United Kingdom.
It was my first time there, so I was really excited!

Yesterday's event was called "Asahi Anime Festival".
This is part of the Street Festivals, so it was outside!
Now we've all heard of the phenomenon "British Summer"...
But it was ACTUALLY sunny all day!
So lucky  ^-^!

I was there to model in the "Japanese Street Fashion Show"!
My friend Memz was showcasing her sculptures in the fashion show.
She's an amazing artist and you can follow her work at:

Memz was also my model partner, as we all walked up in pairs!
Here are some photos of us!

Memz and I on stage, showcasing her Cult Party Kei sculpture!

We were modelling the style "Cult Party Kei x Lolita".

In the end, I left Brighton at 6pm and
was back home at around 11pm and super tired.
Totally amazing day, though!

Thank you for reading,
For more photos, have a look at the Brighton Japan website!
More "Foreign Lolitas" entries are coming up, too ^-^!
