[39.] ❄ Merry Christmas ❄

❄ Merry Christmas ❄
I hope you were able to spend it with your loved ones!

I celebrated Christmas with my boyfriend and his family on the 24th.
We had a traditional Polish Christmas with 12 dishes of food on the table!
Needless to say, we were all pretty stuffed by the end of it :3

Before the meal started, we all had a piece of opłatek.
It's a Christmas wafer baked from pure wheat flour and water.
The opłatki wafers are embossed with Christmas related religious images, varying from the nativity scene, Virgin Mary with baby Jesus, to the Star of Bethlehem.

The eldest member holds a large wafer and breaks off a piece to begin the ritual.

The remaining wafer is passed on to another member while a prayer for loved ones is said.
This continues until everyone at the table has a piece of the wafer.
Finally, everyone eats their share.

This was the first time I did this and I thought it was a really nice idea.
Made Christmas a little bit different.

The Christmas meal consisted of the following 12 foods:

1. Herring & onion in sauce
2. Grilled Salmon with Herbs
3. Grilled Salmon with Lemon
4. Smoked Salmon
5. Greek Style fish
6. Pierogi with cheese filling
7. Pierogi with sauerkraut filling
8. Filled egg halves
9. Salad
10. Barszcz
11. Croquettes
12. Bread

As you can see, there is no meat involved.
Polish people will still be fasting from meat until Christmas Day.

Christmas Headband - Claire's Accessories
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood x Melissa
Cardigan - New Look
Dress - Primark
Tights - M&S

I didn't feel like dressing up in lolita for Christmas this year.
I feel like every year, I'm using the same dress for it so it gets a bit boring...
This dress does the job alright, I think. It's very simple, yet cute and I like that.

Thanks for reading!

[32.] Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone (^-^)
Hope you all had a lovely time!

I've spent Easter with my boyfriend's family,
as all of my family lives abroad.
I had a great time!

We arrived at 10 o'clock on Easter Sunday for breakfast.
This wasn't just any breakfast, but a traditional Polish Easter breakfast!

~•* Here is some foodporn for your enjoyment *•~

ALL THE FOOD

Barszcz Biały - traditional Easter soup

A selection of ham

Fresh herring

Sałatka - a vegetable salad

Filled eggs with mayonnaise

Kabanas - a type of Polish sausage

Galaretka - chicken & vegetables jelly stuff

Well it's needless to say, after all that, I was pretty stuffed!
I absolutely love Polish cuisine, it's very similar to the food I grew up with.
Plus it helps that my boyfriend's parents are amazing chefs <3

You'd think this would be all the food you can eat for breakfast...
WRONG! Not in a Polish house. Eating kind of never stops.
But hey! You don't hear me complaining ;)

A selection of delicious cakes

MOAR CAKE - this cheesecake was amazing!

Of course, because I hadn't worn lolita properly since January,
I took this opportunity to wear something nice...

Here's my Easter outfit & greetings!

Happy Easter to all my Dutch readers <3

I'm a bunny...

Bunny Ears - Supermarket
Rose Wreath - Primark
Blouse - New Look
JSK - Angelic Pretty
Tights - Accessorize
Shoes - Vivienne Westwood x Melissa

For the first time in ages, I've used my natural hair...
I still think it doesn't go very well with lolita,
and I should just keep wearing a wig!

I've only just noticed how horribly short this dress is on me D:
Does anyone know where to get an underskirt?
Maybe I should just sell it (;_____;)
Opinions?

Hope you all had a lovely Easter!
Thanks for reading (^-^)..
